Privacy policy
Short and jargon-free: below I describe what data I collect through this site, why I need it, how long I keep it, and what you can do with it.
Last updated: 19 July 2026
01 Who processes your data
The controller of personal data collected through bitinate.pl is Jakub Chodnik, operating as an unregistered small-scale sole trader under the trading name „Bitinate” pursuant to Article 5 of the Polish Entrepreneurs' Law Act of 6 March 2018 (Prawo przedsiębiorców).
Because of this form of activity, the controller does not hold a Polish tax identification number (NIP) or business register number (REGON). Contact is handled exclusively by email, there is no customer-facing office and no postal address is published.
Contact: kontakt@bitinate.pl
For any matter concerning personal data you can write to kontakt@bitinate.pl. I reply personally.
02 What data I collect and why
I only collect what's needed to get back to you. I don't sell data, don't pass it on for marketing purposes and don't sign you up for any newsletter.
| Where | What data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact form | full name, email, selected service, message content | replying to your message | Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR (consent and steps prior to entering into a contract) |
| Booking | full name, email, date and time, topic (optional) | scheduling and confirming the free consultation | Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR |
| Google Analytics | anonymised traffic data (pages viewed, source, device type) | visit statistics and site improvements | Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent in the cookie banner) |
Providing your data is voluntary, but without an email address I can't reply to your message or confirm a booking.
03 How long I keep the data
- Form messages, for the time needed to reply and hold any follow-up conversation about working together, no longer than 24 months from the last contact.
- Consultation bookings, up to 12 months from the meeting date.
- Billing data (if we work together), for the period required by tax law, i.e. 5 years from the end of the tax year.
- Google Analytics data, as configured in the service, by default up to 14 months.
After that I delete the data. You can also request earlier deletion, see section 06.
04 Who I share data with
I don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may only reach entities that are necessary to run the site and handle contact:
- Hosting provider, on whose server the site and message database run.
- Email provider, through which I send confirmations and replies.
- Google Ireland Limited, solely for Google Analytics and only if you consent via the cookie banner.
Each of these entities processes data under a data processing agreement and only to the extent necessary to provide the service.
05 Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies of its own. On your first visit you'll see a banner asking for consent to analytics.
- If you click "Accept", I load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to count visits.
- If you click "Decline", Google Analytics is not loaded at all. The site works exactly the same.
-
Either way, I store a single entry in your browser's localStorage under
the key
bitinate_cookies, so I don't have to ask again on every visit. This is not a cookie and is not used for tracking.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings, the banner will appear again.
06 Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access, you can ask what data exactly I hold about you.
- Rectification, correcting data that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Erasure, the "right to be forgotten", unless a legal obligation requires retention (e.g. invoice records).
- Restriction of processing, you can require me to pause processing your data.
- Data portability, receiving your data in a commonly used format.
- Objection, to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent, at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, an email to kontakt@bitinate.pl is enough. I reply within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner.
You also have the right to file a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (the Polish supervisory authority: Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland), if you consider that I process your data unlawfully.
07 Security
Data from forms is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a database accessible only to me. I do not process special-category (sensitive) data and I do not use profiling or automated decision-making.
08 Changes to this policy
If I change how data is processed, I'll update this document and the date at the top. Worth checking back if you've been away for a while.
